Matilda is a Paralegal at H+A Legal.

Matilda is working with the team at H+A Legal while studying a Juris Doctor at the University of Technology, Sydney. Prior to joining H+A Legal, Matilda has worked as a self-employed Freelance Copywriter with a demonstrated history of working in marketing departments across the corporate technology industry with the likes of Oracle and NEC Australia.

Matilda assists the team with legal, marketing and administrative tasks to continuously improve team productivity, client engagement, satisfaction and success.

Matilda enjoys flexing her strong people, organisational and written skills to help and learn from the reputable and hard-working team at H+A Legal.

When she isn’t in the office or the classroom, Matilda enjoys spending time on Manly beach with her family and planning her next trip to Europe.

Ebony is a solicitor at H+A Legal.

Ebony began her career with H+A Legal in 2020 as a paralegal whilst completing her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Technology, Sydney. Since being admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW in 2021, Ebony particularly enjoys working with clients at H+A Legal to:

• set-up new businesses;
• structure businesses in the best way;
• prepare and review a range of commercial contracts;
• resolve disputes, such as commercial allegations, responding to litigation proceedings and debt recovery;
• prepare and advise on estate documents; and
• manage estate disputes.

With a focus on providing practical legal solutions, Ebony empowers her clients to make well-informed decisions which align with their business and personal objectives. Ebony brings a fresh perspective and a passion for helping clients navigate the complexities of the legal landscape. This enables her to devise legal strategies that not only mitigate risks but also harness diverse legal opportunities for growth.

Ebony appreciates and welcomes new challenges both professionally and personally and works with passion and motivation to achieve her goals. Beyond the office, Ebony enjoys working out at the gym, playing and watching rugby league, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Renee is a Senior Associate at H+A Legal.

Before joining H+A Legal in 2017, Renee worked for ASX Limited where she supported the in-house Legal team across a wide range of areas, including project development, reviewing and implementing commercial agreements and engaging with key regulators, such as ASIC.

Renee was admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW in 2017 after completing a combined Bachelor of Law / Bachelor of Business with a major in Management at University of Technology, Sydney.

Renee’s studies and professional experience in both the legal and commercial space have grown her passion for providing practical and actionable advice that assists her clients to achieve their business goals. With a keen eye for detail, Renee particularly enjoys working with her clients to:

• guide them through the intricacies of buying, selling and launching businesses;
• implement strategies for business growth and development;
• navigate a wide range of commercial agreements, including shareholders agreements, employment agreements and most business-to-business contracts; and
• resolve commercial conflicts and find common ground in disputes.

Renee is an unwavering supporter of the South Sydney Rabbitohs, injecting the same passion into her legal work as she does into cheering for her team.

Hector is the Director of H+A Legal

Hector founded H+A Legal in 2013 with the goal of growing a practice that’s all about delivering practical, business-minded solutions and here we are today. Hector’s expertise shines in the realm of business law. His track record includes:

• dispute resolution and litigation;
• advising on business structuring and set up, incorporation and trusts; 
• reviewing and negotiating favourable deals and contract terms;
• providing clients with strategic advice in relation to their commercial objectives;
• guiding business entrepreneurs on buying and selling businesses; and
• acting in commercial and estate proceedings in the Federal, Supreme and other state courts.

Before establishing H+A Legal, Hector bolstered his corporate experience in an academically funded cadetship at the multinational firm, DHL Express. Hector then ventured into the world of private practice as a solicitor in some of the world’s leading law firms where he gained experience in the commercial disputes and commercial transactions practice groups. In 2013 Hector decided to consolidate his commercial and litigation experience by establishing H+A Legal.

Hector was admitted to practice in the Supreme, Federal and High Court of Australia in 2008 and is a member of the Law Society of New South Wales.

Hector is driven by the fact that the strategic use of legal services is one of the most powerful tools in business and that lawyers are in a unique position to help their clients achieve the goals and ambitions.

In his spare time, Hector enjoys running the track between Coogee and Bronte, and spending time with his family.
